Car wrecks happen every day on the roads here in Georgia.

According to the Governor's Office of Highway Safety, on Georgia's highways in 2010, there were:

* 1,244 fatalities
* 111,290 injuries
* 298 alcohol related fatalities

The Center for Disease Control tells us that across the United States, there are over 30,000 people killed each year in crashes.

What about car wrecks in Atlanta?

According to AAA's 2009 data, more than 62,000 people were injured in Atlanta car crashes.
Only Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York city had more wrecks!

In 2009, 498 people were killed in car wrecks in Atlanta. Only 5 cities in the United States had more traffic deaths.
